The Workshop was held in Cairns last week and we thank all delegates and sponsors for their participation.
The Faculty of Radiation Oncology Genito-urinary Group (FROGG) is pleased to invite you to the 2019 FROGG Workshop “The Art of Genitourinary Radiation in 2019 – Bladder, Prostate and Beyond” to be held from the 8th-10th of August 2019 at the Shangri-Lai Hotel in Cairns.
The objective of FROGG workshops is to increase awareness of emerging evidence and promote best practice in the delivery of radiation treatment for genito-urinary malignancies. There have been significant developments in the management of bladder cancer where radiation is often under-utilised and sometimes sub-optimally delivered. With increasing improvements in the understanding of biomarkers & genomics, imaging, treatment delivery techniques and image verification, one of the aims of this year’s workshop is to discuss the evidence for optimising patient selection and treatment delivery for patients with bladder cancer.
There have also been several important and recently reported prostate trials such as STAMPEDE and SPPORT that have major implications on our practice, particularly in the oligometastatic and post-prostatectomy setting. Thus, the theme for this year’s workshop is: “The Art of Genitourinary Radiation in 2019 – Bladder, Prostate and Beyond”. The meeting will feature keynote presentations from Prof Ananya Choudhury, from The Christie Hospital (UK), who is an international expert on bladder & prostate cancer as well as prognostic/predictive biomarkers and MR imaging in radiotherapy. As always, the meeting will be interactive with contouring and planning workshops and panel discussions. The workshop is targeted towards radiation oncologists (including registrars), medical physicists and radiation therapists who are involved in treating genito-urinary malignancies.
We encourage you all to escape the winter and we look forward to welcoming you to warm and sunny Cairns in August.
